Pencil Drawing for Jewellery Design

HK$ 4,000 24 hours (8 lessons 3 hours per session)

Aimhorse pencil drawing

Pencil drawing plays a very important role in jewellery design.  Students will start the study with a light pencil sketch in order to get familiar with the subject.  A satisfactory pencil sketch should be obtained before proceeding to the ink and colour painting.

We take the forms from our natural or man-made environment. By the end of the course a multitude of everyday objects will become available to your ‘trained eye’ as potential jewellery design material or topic.

Course layout

manatee pencil drawingStudy the rules of perspective affecting the objects and volume of the shapes.  We will increase visual awareness of design by the way of negative or empty spaces, as well as incidental and reflected light.  In the course you will be using objects, photos and pictures, considering the object in a three-dimensional context.

Move on from the documentary study to detail study and practice.  Including detailed drawing of each part, geometrical pattern as well as two views of the whole object and outlining. Each curve and each line has its importance. Apply with black and white pencils to understand high and low values. Though the exercises in each session we will give you a good foundation towards a successful jewellery design.
