In jewellery making (Silversmithing) you will develop skills used by traditional jewellers, such as filing, sawing, forming the metal, soldering etc. All the primary traditional fine hand skills and techniques are covered, developing the technical skills through a programme of practical workshops where bench experience is gained.

We use practical and simple instructions to explain the complex operation of jewellery making in easy to follow steps. Our course is intended for people who want to make a living from the craft, or as a hobby.

pendant drill It sets out the traditional practices that have been used for centuries and are still been used today by many craftsmen all over the world.

This course is also very suitable for people who have experience with other jewellery making techniques such as beading jewellery and want to extend their skills in order to make more complex and unique designs.

The course will give the student a fresh and continuous joy in producing jewellery of a high quality. However you choose to explore the art of making jewellery the important thing is to enjoy the process and the results. Whatever your approach, jewellery encompasses so many different skills and challenges, there is likely to be something for everyone.

Course does not include tools and materials. We provide the main workshop tools, such as workbench, torch, and various other power tools, but students are expected to use their own toolkit (jeweller's saw and other small tools) in order to continue their exercises at home.
